Landon Donovan Ready to Kick It at REV with ESPN
REPORTING FROM REDLANDS, Calif — American soccer star and Redlands native Landon Donovan will be “kicking it” in his hometown on Monday to shoot an episode of ESPN’s “Homecoming” with Rick Reilly.
Donovan will be surrounded by family, friends, and fans at Redlands East Valley High School on April 19th, and share stories from his childhood to his professional experience on the soccer pitch.
Donovan joins a growing list of professional athletes who have been featured on “Homecoming.” Others include gold medal swimmer Michael Phelps, former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner, and Twins catcher Joe Mauer.
Donovan is currently suiting up for the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer, following a 10-week loan with Everton of England’s Premier League.
Donovan is the all-time leading scorer in U.S. national team history and is the only six-time winner of the Honda Player of the Year Award.
