REPORTING FROM BAKERSFIELD, CALIF– Lakers star Ron Artest surprised many Bakersfield basketball fans with an unexpected appearance Thursday night at the Jam’s celebration dinner.
Artest joined Bakersfield’s NBA D-League team in celebrating the Jam’s affiliation with the world champs.
Lakers co-owners Jeanie and Joey Buss joined Artest at the dinner, and were presented with a key to the city, as well as a “golden axe” from the local fire department and a pair of Buck Owens’ guitars.
Artest revealed that he will be chainging his number from “37″ to his former “15″ from his days at St. John’s to demonstrate his commitment to playing hard and focusing on defense.
